This article is a follow-up to a previous article outlining the HH Richardson School’s 3rd Grade Community Service project. It turns out that the students ended up collecting 1,350 books during their recent book drive for the School on Wheels “Summer Reading Bag Project” !
Children in grades pre-K through grade 12 will receive a drawstring bag with 3 new books to read this summer thanks to the hard work of these students from the HH Richardson School.
The teachers and the students were presented the School on Wheels “Communities Caring for Kids” award for their dedication to supporting children in their community impacted by homelessness. They are committed to paying it forward.
So…. What do you call a bunch of kids in red who collect over 1,000 books to be read and save the day?

I am so grateful to Mr. Higgins and his hardworking students for running such a successful book drive. WOW, how impressive to collect 1,350 books in one drive. Truly inspiring and amazing! I love all of the pictures but I especially like the one with the kids holding the books. Hundreds of children impacted by homelessness will have new books to read this summer thanks to your support. How awesome is that!
