Housing and Education Equity Lab – Brockton

I am deeply honored that School on Wheels of Massachusetts (SOWMA) has been selected as a community partner in the Brockton Education and Housing Coalition.

Thank you to Earl J. Edwards, The Housing and Educational Equity Lab, and Boston College for recognizing SOWMA’s work and for inviting us to help build a model that empowers school districts to truly level the playing field for students impacted by homelessness.

As an alumna of both Boston College and Brockton High School, this work is especially meaningful to me. To begin this initiative in Brockton—a city that shaped who I am—feels both full circle and deeply purposeful.

Together, we have the opportunity to create systems that do more than respond to crisis—we can design solutions that ensure every student, regardless of housing status, has access to stability, academic support, and opportunity.

SOWMA is proud to stand alongside such committed partners as we work to drive lasting, equitable change for students and families.

With Gratitude,

Athena
