CHAMPION FOR OUR KIDS
We are honored to name Neil Levine as our 2023 Champion for our Kids.
Neil is an unstoppable advocate for children, and has been a tireless ambassador for SOWMA since our founding in 2004.
Neil helped launch the Outrunning Homelessness road race in 2011, recruiting students from the Oliver Ames High School cross-country team, which he coached. The students went on to start the first high school “SOWMA Club.”
He has charted the course for many SOWMA initiatives, including as behind-the-scenes marshal at every
spring charity 5K. Neil has orchestrated events and fundraisers at his popular restaurant “Maguire’s” of Easton.
This summer Neil ran his 41st Falmouth Road Race, raising more than $14,000 for our students and programs, despite a recent cancer diagnosis and immediately following months of rigorous radiation treatment.
On his runner's profile, which was spotlighted by the Falmouth organizers among its 10,000+ runners,
is a quote by Martin Luther King:
"If you can't fly, run.
If you can't run, walk.
If you can't walk, crawl;
but whatever you do, keep moving forward."
Join us on November 9th to hear more behind this remarkably inspirational Champion;
and the students we all collectively help move forward.
