Berk Tanyel a native of Southlake Texas and child of turkish immigrants. He joined SOWMA in the winter of 2024. Berk is a writing, literature and publishing major at Emerson college in Boston. In his free time he is an actor and film producer, starring in the recent short film " Bed Bugs" (Directed by Will Curtis, 2023). Berk's passion for reading and literacy shine through all he does as our site coordinator at our two hotel shelters in Boston, serving recent immigrants. Berk also is the site coordinator at our Family Aid site in Mattapan.
