Lauren Silva and the Taunton Police Department collected and delivered backpacks and school supplies for
250 children.  More then 40 businesses and organizations staged similar drives this summer to support children facing homelessness and provide the materials they need to succeed in school.

Last year we distributed 2,900 backpacks statewide to elementary, high school and college students experiencing homelessness.  This summer, as we prepared for the 2018/19 academic school year, we received more than 3,000 requests for children and youth in need - and we delivered thanks to you!

School on Wheels is grateful to the companies and foundations that support our work on behalf of students impacted by homelessness in Massachusetts.  Our mission is to keep students on track and in school during times of uncertainty and disruption.  We do this by providing customized, grade-level backpacks and school supplies, one-on-one tutoring and mentoring and college assistance to some of the 21,000+ students enrolled in Massachusetts public schools who have no place to call home.  We thank the following sponsors for for making a difference!
