SOWMA's Bridge Mentoring Program helps high school and college-age students experiencing homelessness stay engaged with school, post-secondary education or vocational training. We place special emphasis on working with unaccompanied youth, ages 16 - 22, who are on their own without the support of a parent or guardian. In addition to helping students navigate educational plans and career goals during and after high school, we support students through GED study, HiSet exams, internships, job placement and apprenticeships.
Most of our Bridge Mentoring students are the first in their family to pursue a post-secondary degree. We currently have 87 students in the program.
